The large book shelf on the right has a fixed center shelf, with three adjustable shelves above it and two below.

All planks, for all the shelves, and carcasses were 3x1 glued, planed and belt sanded with final going over with fine paper before the staining and waxing.

The alcove to the right of the fire place is not as deep as the hidden alcove, but it was just the right size to hold two suspended A4 file frames, complete with pull out rollers, one above the other, in the double cupboard. The shelves above are deep enough for a Hi-Fi.
