The main flat area where the chisel is resting, was reduced down by 5mm leaving the raised edge all the way round, a router was used freehand to achieve this effect.

Rebated on the inside to accommodate the inner surface of the arch, in this case ply was used, with saw cuts across the back to enable the bend, then veneer to finish. Two of these were needed one for each side.
